True colors....

In the fine state of New York, there will be an election for the 23rd congressional district. Originally, this was going to be a contest between Owens, the liberal Democrat, and Scozzafava, the liberal Republican. One man, a businessman with no prior political experience, Doug Hoffman, threw his hat in the ring because he saw no difference in either of the two candidates. They both represented big government, big unions, federal funding of health care, and support for the now-notoriously corrupt ACORN group. He ran under the Conservative ticket, and received endorsement from Fred Thompson, Sarah Palin, and many other high ranking conservative governors, senators, and congressmen. Soon after, his poll numbers began to rise and now he is the man to beat in his election, and hasnt received a dime from the National Republican Congressional Committee. Dede Scozzafava, on the other hand, received $900,000 from the NRCC in her bid to win the election. This past week, 2 things happened: Scozzafava dropped out of the race, which wasnt a surprise considering she was in third place. But today, November 1st, she threw her support behind the liberal Democrat, Bill Owens. The saddest part of all of it is that the head of the NRCC is blaming the conservative, Hoffman, for this. Which is why i titled this post True Colors. Both parties, mine in particular, must look inward for who to blame for their problems, not the other party. When business as usual politicians are allowed to throw money at candidates based on the letter after their name rather than the content of their character, it is time to clean house...
